Senior Staff Accountant-Manufacturing

Overview
The Senior Staff Accountant is both an important and hands-on role that provides full accounting support to external and internal customers.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, and production variances for aluminum casting and extrusion operations.
- Maintain and reconcile inventory, raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods accounts.
- Assist with standard costing, cost analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Assist with year-end physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Support external audits, tax filings, and internal control compliance.
- Monitor capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, production, to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Review AP/AR transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Help improve accounting procedures and reporting processes.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting.
- Experience with GP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
