Onsite - Cost Accountant

Overview

 The Cost Accountant is responsible for cost accounting analyses comparing estimated costs to actual costs and prepares a variety of related budget reports.

 Job Responsibilities

  • Updates inventory balance report, inventory valuation & rate (FIFO); daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Data analysis of discrepancies and variances to determine root causes, identifying risks and outcomes.
  • Review and analyze variances between perpetual and book to determine root causes.
  • Determines fixed costs such as salaries, rent, and insurance.
  • Forecasts, plans, and records variable costs (purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs).
  • Manages regular cycle counts, conducting field audits.
  • Performs inventory month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
  • Review and update current inventory and the costing systems, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • At least two years of experience in cost accounting are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as various accounting software.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Position is on site only, not eligible for remote or hybrid work status.
