Overview

 The Die Shop Supervisor provides professional expertise and coordination to the development, securing, and implementing tooling resources needed for extrusion production.

 Job Responsibilities 

• Assist Die Shop Manager with daily operations of die shop
• Monitoring and gathering data on new die and problem die production runs
• Communicate with die vendors on die designs and troubleshooting of die problems
• Ensures all dies meets quality specifications
• Tracks extrusion dies through the shop to ensure the readiness of tooling for the press
• Monitors work schedules, approves timecards and employee time off requests
• Responsible for performance management of hourly employees, including training, annual evaluations, corrective action, improvement plans, etc.
• Develop constructive & cooperative working relationships with those on your team as well as cross-functional team members.
• Assist in maintaining die shop equipment and die records as needed
• Assists in maintaining and writing work instructions
• Adheres to ISO standards
• Keeps a safe & clean work environment

  Job Requirements 

• Associate degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
• Prefer 5+ years of experience in the aluminum extrusion industry
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of extrusion presses & production required
• Competent with use of the die module within EPICS for data tracking
• Capable of analyzing data using Excel or other statistical tool software
• Experience and understanding in MS Project planning tools
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools, concepts, and practices
• Able to supervise/train others
• Strong communication skills
